Home › About Kohler vs. Generac
Kohler vs Generac is a comparison site for homeowners choosing a home standby generator. It is published by the Kohler vs Generac Editorial Team and is part of the HomeLynk home improvement network, which also runs HomeGeneratorCost.com and NewHomeGenerator.com.
Editorial policy
- Primary sources only. Ratings, sound levels, fuel use and warranty terms come from manufacturer spec sheets and warranty documents. Prices are the manufacturers’ published MSRPs. Every page lists its sources and the date we opened them.
- No invented numbers. If a manufacturer does not publish a figure (for example, the Generac spec sheets we use do not list motor-starting kVA), we say so instead of estimating.
- Calculations are labeled. Cost per kW and natural gas power loss are our own arithmetic from published figures, and each is marked as a calculation.
- Dated. Each page shows when it was published and last updated. We re-check spec sheets and prices whenever we update a page.
- Corrections. Found an error or a newer spec sheet? Email [email protected] and we will review it.
Independence and how we make money
This site is not owned by or affiliated with Generac Power Systems, Rehlko (KOHLER home generators) or Briggs & Stratton. The “Get Free Estimates” links go to HomeLynk, our parent network, which helps homeowners request quotes from local contractors.
